A Message from Mrs Joan Christie CVO OBE

It has been a privilege for me to have been Her Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant for the County of Antrim since 2008.

During this time, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people but in particular Young people from across the County and the Borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey.

I am simply thrilled that as I commence a new chapter in life the Council has created this bursary scheme in my name. This is not only a fabulous opportunity for the youth of the Borough but an opportunity for me to continue to meet inspirational young people whilst supporting them to believe, achieve and succeed.

I look forward to playing my role in awarding bursaries to talented musicians, committed youth volunteers and schools delivering special education. The youth of this Borough represent the future and I cannot think of a more worthy investment than supporting them achieve their full potential.

Mrs Joan Christie CVO, OBE
