Social Enterprise Programme

Are you considering starting up a social Enterprise business or are already trading and want some assistance? Then the social Enterprise Programme can support you on this journey.

This programme is closed until further notice

What is a Social Enterprise?

A social enterprise is a business whose primary purpose is based on social objectives. Any surpluses generated are principally reinvested in the business to further advance that purpose, or in the wider community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners. A social enterprise does however have a business focus and operates as a commercial enterprise.

What support is available?

The programme offers one to one mentoring from a specialist, access to group workshops, networking opportunities with other social enterprise businesses and access to a bursary to progress your idea.
Open to those located within the Council boundary, as defined by a registered business address for existing enterprises and residential address for start-ups.
